# Map reachable areas

Draw the area a driver can reach from a point within a given time.

Before you start, you need an [API key](../start/quickstart.md). Isochrones are expensive to compute, so ask for the fewest values you need.

## Ask for one to three travel times

`time_s` takes 1 to 3 comma-separated values, each a multiple of 60 from 60 to 1800, strictly ascending. This asks for 10 and 20 minutes.

```bash
curl -s -H "X-API-Key: $QUADRUPER_KEY" \
  'https://quadruper.com/v2/isochrone?point=122.5621,10.7202&profile=car&time_s=600,1200'
```

## Draw the features

The response is a GeoJSON `FeatureCollection`, which most map libraries can display directly. It has one feature per `time_s` value, in ascending order. Each geometry is a `Polygon` or a `MultiPolygon`, so handle both.

```javascript
for (const feature of isochrone.features) {
  console.log(feature.properties.time_s, feature.geometry.type);
}
```

Draw the largest area first so the smaller ones stay visible, and show the `attribution` text on the map.

## What to expect

Times come from typical road speeds, not live traffic, so present the area as an estimate. See the [`GET /v2/isochrone` reference](../reference/isochrone.md) for the response shape.
